I’m back in the desert after an indulgent (ooppps) trip to the UK and with that in mind I’m back to healthy eating and thinking about my skin.
Luckily, whilst at Ripe Market (currently every Saturday at Time Square), I met Minna Herranen of Nordic Power Food and she encouraged me to try some of her extemely delicious Berryfect, premium berry powder.
I liked it so much Minna generously gave me a box of 20 sachets as an awesome GIVEAWAY for one lucky reader!

WHAT IS BERRYFECT?
Berryfect is made from Bilberries, and for those of us not in the know, Bilberries are the wild forest cousin of Blueberries – yum! They grow naturally under the northern lights in the forests of Scandinavia and are a little smaller in size than their cousins, but they taste sweeter and stronger.
THE BILBERRY BENEFITS…
It seems that the little Bilberry is a great source of nutritients and incredibly the amount of metabolised antioxidants exceeds that of the much loved goji berry! Wow…
In addition they contain high amounts of vitamins C and E, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and they are a good source of fibre.
However, what stands out for me its the amount of the anthocyanin compounds that Bilberries contain. Anthocyanins are the bioactive compounds, which give the bilberry its characteristic dark blue/ purple colour both outside and inside (blueberries flesh, you’ll notice, are white). The wild bilberry is three to four times richer in this anti-oxidant than the cultivated blueberries!
From my article ‘How the blue in Blueberries keeps you radiant‘ we know that anthocyanin is amazing in the battle of neutralising free radicals. It also acts like an anti-inflammatory within your body, so reduces one of the major causes of skin sagging and wrinkling.
BERRYFECT, PREMIUM POWDER
Berryfect comes in easy to use individual sachets which can be added to shakes, smoothies, porridge, dressings, dips and in baking.
The Bilberry powder is created with a unique freeze drying process and all the Bilberry’s nutritionally dense parts: juice, pulp, skin and seeds are used. Finally Minna promises that Berryfect contains no added sugar or nasty chemical preservatives.
